They will talk about 'Renewal pricing in P&C retail and SME' and 'ML – based Recourse Detection in P&C Motor Retail'. The lecture will be followed by a question round where you can quench the thirst of your curiosity.

Franz Doedecke and Christoph Berret will hold the lecture. Each topic takes ca. 20 min. Then there is the possibiltiy for a question round.

Renewal pricing in P&C retail and SME:

Existing P&C contracts are typically price adjusted each year to reflect changes in the risk as well as macroeconomic factors (e.g. inflation of the object insured). Aside from presenting some of the challenges we faced when moving our workflow to a cloud based infrastructure, we show how price experiments can help to estimate price elasticities and how these have been used to maximize customer retention given certain price adjustments.

ML – based Recourse Detection in P&C Motor Retail:

Besides all other current prediction models dealing with classical insurance tasks we build a prediction pipeline that automatizes and optimizes the identification and the assessment of recourse claims based on unstructured data. Text documents like emails, expert reports, etc. are processed using state of the art approaches from OCR and natural language processing. In combination with classical structured data we use the extracted information to build a predictive model (classical ML-approaches).
